Dizzy Dave, a beloved radio personality hailing from Portland, Oregon, has always been captivated by the world of radio. From childhood nights spent tuning into KGO in San Francisco and WLS in Chicago, to obtaining an Extra license from the FCC as a Ham Radio operator, Dave has nurtured his passion for connecting with others through the airwaves.
During his 20-year career as an International Union Representative, Dave traveled extensively and took courses at the University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center, University of Wisconsin School for Workers, The George Meany Center for Labor Studies, and graduated from the prestigious Harvard Trade Union Program. This rich background allowed Dave to explore his love for radio even further by volunteering as a sound engineer for large churches and national political campaigns.
Throughout his many travels, Dave discovered and fell in love with Hawaiian culture, food, and music, from oldies and slack key guitar to Hawaiian tunes. After retiring, Dave and his wife spent four years exploring North America as full-time RVers before finally settling in Ocean Shores, Washington. It was here that Dizzy Dave found his home at KOSW, the community-owned radio station.
On his show, Dave showcases his diverse musical tastes, blending Hawaiian melodies with classics from various genres. His dedication to the community-owned station not only supports local media but also brings his unique perspective and warm personality to listeners across the region. With 44 years of marriage and a lifetime of adventure under his belt, Dizzy Dave continues to enchant audiences with his eclectic musical selections and genuine love for radio.
